Coach and Teacher

Coaching teachers to use AT to enhance the quality of instruction and build the foundation for early literacy success.

Parent and Child

Empowering parents to use AT at home to enrich language and literacy development.

Teacher and Child

Step UP AT integrates e-learning, access to AT devices, and expert coaching to promote inclusion and participation in literacy activities.

What is Step UP AT ?

The Step Up AT to Promote Early Literacy Project (Step Up AT) is an innovative professional development resource to increase teacher and parent knowledge of evidenced based assistive technology (AT) practices to increase early literacy outcomes for preschool children with disabilities. Through interactive online modules, access to AT devices, and expert coaching, teachers and parents learn how to identify children’s needs and incorporate AT to increase their participation in early literacy activities at home and school.

What is Included in the Interactive Online Toolkit?

Teachers and parents are able to acquire AT knowledge and strategies utilizing the interactive toolkit that is comprised of the following three elements:

  • Interactive online modules accessible “anytime anywhere” for teachers (English & Spanish) and parents (English & Spanish).  Click the links to access the registration pages.
  • Access to the Step Up AT Lending Library through our community partner FAAST.
  • Coaching sessions for teachers and parents to review AT strategies. Contact Us for more information.
